Taking the most creative and amazing photographs is a dream for many photographers. Although the photographers that we are featuring here today are some of the best and have already reached great heights in their profession, their portfolios are not the main subject of our article.

Photographers often have a difficult task when it comes to choosing the right design for their logo. Since their job pertains to the visual arts industry, this means their logo has to be something visually appealing to the naked eye. Fortunately, there are many ways for photographers and logo designers to get inspiration for a good photography logo. They can just browse through the portfolios of other logo designers and study the techniques they used in their designs. This will be a logo that gets displayed on their website, as their photos watermark or even on their office door if they have one. Then when clients approach the photographer, the very first picture they are going to have in their minds is the logo. So if the logo is weird or misrepresents the service being provided, the client may very well turn away and go somewhere else. That is why studying logo designs are a good idea prior to designing your own logo.

If you are a photographer looking for branding ideas then you can browse through the high quality photography logos below. These are the award winning photographers and photography company logos that have achieved great success in their profession. Their talent as photographers likely played a part in that success, but their logo is what people remember most about them. So as you browse through the logos and come up with a branding idea, try to imagine how that logo will look to someone for the first time. You may need to think objectively, so don’t be afraid to get a second opinion on the ideas you generate from this.

As you scan through the photography logos, you will notice how simplistic they are. In other words, these are not highly illustrated logos with dozens of different colors. The designs are minimalistic, but yet creative, professional, modern and inspiring at the same time. More importantly, they all relate to the photography industry and it is easy to tell that from just looking at them.

This photographer made two equally clever logo designs. The first logo is actually made from one of his photographs and has his first initial superimposed into the middle. The second logo clearly spells out the photographer’s name “Tom Hull.” The picture really says it all.

Bruno Rosa – http://brunorosaphoto.com/

Bruno Rosa uses their name with an illustrated version of their initials in the middle. The “B” and “R” are truly emphasized here and will stand out in people’s minds the most.

Theilen Photography uses the name of their studio, but adds so called grunge or eroded effects to the text in order to give it texture and character. These effects often provide a uniqueness that makes a name memorable in people’s minds.

Here is a very attractive logo that is both elegant and creative. Not only did the logo designer make good use of text fonts and sizes, but they staged them in a way that totally makes it shine. It also gives us a bit of information about the company because the top mentions they do wedding & portraits. Normally a logo would not have specific details like this, but when presented in this style it is allowed. The circular shape of the logo with the properly formatted text will make this memorable to people.

Look fotografia  – http://www.lookfotografia.com/

Photographer logos 14

You might think this is a misspelling if you only know English, but to Italians they will know that fotographia is the Italian word for photography. Now depending on the market they are advertising to, this logo could be genius. If you are an Italian photographer then you will be recognized by anyone who speaks Italian. As to everyone else, they will still understand the nature of the business because “fotograf” still sounds like photograph.

Raman Photos – http://raman-weddings.de/

Raman Photos conducts exclusive weddings. This information is presented well, but the R letter with the crown on top of it is an even better touch. It truly represents style and class and it’s perfect for a wedding photography logo company.

Raymond Phang – http://raymondphang.com/

Photographer logos 16

The logo actually spells out “Photography” after the photographer’s name, which may be appropriate if you are afraid people truly won’t know what you are selling. He also uses two colors in his name and a lens shaped object in the background. This one really works well and clearly outlines the nature of his business.
