we are a volunteer group that serve as the helping hands to the park. We help with events, restoration projects and maintenance of trails, along with the staff,we offer nature programs for adults and children who visit the park and help with field trips. We also monitor and provide habitat for Monarch butterflies. There is a small membership fee to be "a friend" and those fees, along with donations and fundraisers allow us to supplement the park budget for special projects and purchase items needed to support programs, for example we have recently been able to facilitate the refurbishing of a bird blind that has greatly enhanced the visitor's birding experience. most visitors come to enjoy and swim in the beautiful Guadalupe River and picnic along its bank. we also help to protect the pristine Honey Creek within the park. The Honey Creek area is limited access only,it is open to the public only on Saturday mornings for a guided nature hike lead by friends members.
